Thornton Filter Unit Fire

Around 11:30 on March 11th, 2025 Thornton Fire Department and North Metro Fire Rescue District responded to a possible commercial structure fire in the Adams 12 Future Forward education building at 12521 Washington St. home to their Fire Science and EMT program. Battalion 71 arrived to find fire in a filter unit outside but attached to the structure and Truck 62 arrived and positioned on the Bravo side by a hydrant. The fire was quickly knocked down, filters removed and extinguishment was completed in the yard of the facility. The area inside was vented and the units cleared.
