
Walgreens South Kipling Parkway Fire
West Metro Small Fire
On Saturday, December 27th, 2025 at 15:15 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 12 was dispatched to a possible structure fire at the Walgreens Store, 5870 S. Kipling Parkway in Governors Ranch. Engine 12 arrived to a no flames nor smoke visible, but a smoke odor was observed throughout the interior of the structure. Upon further investigation, the smoke source was determined to be coming from an overheated HVAC unit, which had ignited a stack of manuals that was on top of the HVAC unit. The unit was shut off and flames were quickly extinguished with a one gallon bottle of water. All customers and store personnel were safely evacuated, with no injuries reported.
