West Metro Garage Fire

On July 15th, 2025 at 07:50 West Metro Fire Rescue and Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a possible structure fire in the 4300 block of Reed St. in Wheat Ridge. Engine 16 arrived to a small single-story single-family residents with working fire possibly in the attic and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack and the primary search with Medic 16. District 1 took command in the offensive strategy. Crews found fire that was contained to the garage which was quickly put under control. The residents and pets were able to get out without injury. One of the family’s dogs was missing for a short time, but had left the house and was found by a neighbor. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
