Denver Vegetation Fire

On March 31st, 2026 around 23:00 Denver Fire Department and Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a vegetation fire at 11255 E. MLK Jr. Blvd. off Havana St. in the Bluff Lake Nature Center. Crews arrived to find a slow moving fire burning in the cattail marsh and trees along the east and south sides of the lake. Firefighters from both departments were able to get it quickly contained with no structures involved or damaged. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation. Crews were on scene until the next morning with hot spots. The fire burned around 5 acres. Additional information provided by Denver Fire Department and Aurora Fire Rescue
