On February 24th, 2026 around 12:30 Denver Fire Department was dispatched to a working attic fire in the 4500 block of Utica St. Upon arrival, crews observed light smoke coming from the attic vents. After speaking with the homeowner, it was expressed that he smelled smoke in the house, he determined the smoke was from the attic. He then shut off the electrical power and called 911. After a quick knock down, crews verified an electrical issue had started a fire in the attic. The home owner was praised for his quick actions. No injuries reported.
