South Metro Structure Fire

On June 2nd 2026 approximately at 19:45 South Metro Fire Rescue and Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 9500 block of E. Chenango Ave. in Greenwood Village. Dispatched advised Greenwood Police officers on scene with smoke inside the structure and possible party still inside and the call was upgraded to a confirmed structure fire. Engine 31 arrived on scene to a small single-story with a working fire and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack. Tower 32 started the primary search and extended their ladder to the roof. Engine 11 secured the water supply. The fire was put under control and crews worked on the overhaul. No occupants were inside and one family cat was rescued. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation. Additional information provided by South Metro Fire Rescue
