Foothills Structure Fire

On August 2nd, 2026 at 15:08 Foothills Fire Protection District, Highland Rescue and Genesee Fire Protection District was dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 22400 block of Anasazi Way in the Riva Chase neighborhood in Jefferson County. Medic 287 arrived to a working fire from the rear deck with a propane tank near the fire. Utility 525 arrived and assumed command and sized up the scene with a two-story and assigned Engine 931 to pull a 1 3/4 for fire attack and Engine 535 to secured the water supply. Crews quickly knocked down a small fire with no extension into the main structure with only minor damage. Some decking and siding were removed, as to ensure all hotspots were extinguished. The fire is under investigation by the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC). Additional information provided by Foothills Fire Protection District
