West Metro Garage Fire

On January 2nd, 2026 at 12:17 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire at 90 S. Chase Drive in Lakewood. Jeffcom 911 advised of multiple callers reporting flames inside the garage with one occupant inside with a dog. Engine 7 arrived to a working garage fire in a one-story single-family residential and pulled 1 3/4 to fast attack and Medic 7 started the primary search of the main residents. District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha-Delta corner in the offensive strategy.  Engine 3 secured the water supply to Engine 7 and Medic 1 with medical. The fire was put under control quickly and contained to the garage only with no extension, although there was smoke damage throughout the living area. Residents were able to escape without injury and firefighters reunited two dogs with their owners. The family was displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
