
Lakewood West Carolina Drive Attic Fire
West Metro Structure Fire
At 16:39 on June 13th, 2026 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 12300 block of W. Carolina Drive in Lakewood. Jeffcom 911 received several neighbors calling after seeing smoke and flames coming from the backyard. Medic 4 arrived with a working fire from the Charlie side exterior of a single-family and started fast attack with the can and Engine 4 pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack. District 2 assumed command and Engine 8 secured the water supply at S. Valentine Way to Engine 4. Engine 10 started the primary search and Tower 10 went to the roof. The fire spread into the the residence and into the attic space. The fire was put under control quickly and crews worked on the overhaul. All occupants and their pets were able to get out safely. WMFR fire investigator determined that the fire started after a failure involving the air conditioning unit next to the home. The fire ignited nearby vegetation, spread to the fence, and then moved up the side of the house. The home sustained extensive fire damage in the attic, along with smoke damage throughout.
