On February 14th, 2026 at 20:01 West Metro Fire Rescue Engine 2 and Medic 1 was dispatched to an MVA at the intersection of Youngfield St. & W. Colfax Ave. in Lakewood. Additional units and District 1 was also dispatched. Upon arrival, crews located 2 vehicles at the intersection with major damage. Two west bound lanes and one east bound lanes were blocked by law enforcement. Traffic diverted at appropriate locations. Two known fatalities occurred, while other injuries are unknown.
