South Adams Starts Ambulance Service

The South Adams County Fire Department began an in-house ambulance service in March of 2026. A 2025 Ford F-550 is in service at Station 28 in Reunion. A twin is expected to be put in service later this year and two more next year. The Department hired six single role paramedics to staff the new ambulance. SAC currently contracts with Intermountain who still maintains rigs at Station 22, 23, 24. SAC has hired some staff from Intermountain who plans to expand into interfaculty transfers when their contract expires. 5280Fire caught up with the crew and checked out the new SAC ambulance at Station 28 on May 21st, 2026.
