South Metro Water Rescue

On May 9th, 2026 at 19:30 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a water rescue, located within the Chatfield State Park limits, at 11500 North Roxborough Park Road, in Littleton. Crews arrived with notification that a husband and wife were paddle boarding, the husband fell off of his board and the couple was separated due high winds. West Metro Fire Rescue units were also dispatched to assist, including the West Metro Fire Rescue 8 dive team. It was quickly determined that the husband was wearing a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) and made his way to the shore safely. He was evaluated for hypothermia and released on scene.
