Lakewood Garage Fire

On May 2nd, 2026 at 17:25 West Metro Fire Rescue and Arvada Fire Protection District was dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 300 block of S. Newcombe St. in Lakewood. Engine 4 arrived to a nothing showing from a single-story home and started the investigation. Upon the investigation crews found a working fire in a detached garage and into the attic space and started fire attack and the primary search with Medic 3. Engine 2 arrived and secured the water supply. District 1 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Engine 8 with the primary search of the main residents and Medic 2 with medical. The fire was quickly put under control at 17:38 and crews started on the overhaul. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
