Station 12 Open House

On August 15, 2026 West Metro Fire Rescue held an open house at Station 12, 9990 W. Alamo Place in Littleton. Community members enjoyed discussions with the fire crew and EMT’s that were on hand. Families enjoyed getting a tour of the fire station and apparatus, with many questions for the crew. Stickers, bicycle bells and other fun items were available; while snacks and drinks were supplied. Station 12 was built in 1984 and was originally Bancroft Fire Protection District (Colorado) Station 43 which was at a different location at Kipling St. & Lakehurst Drive. The WMFR open houses also help to show how much the coasts are for the department from the turnout gear and SCBA to radios, helmets, tools, and all the other equipment they rely on every day including training, outfitting a single West Metro firefighter costs nearly $50,000. It’s one of the biggest behind-the-scenes investments they make-before a firefighter ever responds to a single call. Like everything else, the cost of this lifesaving equipment continues to rise.
