On March 4th, 2026 at 23:45 Westminster Fire Department and Adams County Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at 8290 Federal Blvd. Battalion 1 arrived to a medium size two-story multi-family with a working fire from the 2nd floor balcony and Engine 2 pulled 1 3/4 for fire attack with Medic 2. Two Westminster Police Officers suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation while assisting in evacuating neighboring residents and Medic 1 transported one of the officers to a local hospital and later released. The second officer was evaluated at the scene only. The fire was found in one apartment unit and the resident evacuated safety with no extension into any other units. Later in the morning of March 5th, 2026 at 06:30 both departments were dispatched again to the same apartment complex with reports of fire from the roof and affecting multiple apartment units. The fire was quickly put under control with residents from eight units being displaced. Apartment management has relocated all affected residents. The Westminster Fire Marshal’s office has finalized its investigation into both fires. The investigation concluded that both responses were the result of the initial fire and has ruled them accidental. The apartment management has relocated all affected residents.
