West Metro Solar Panel Fire
On January 5, 2026 at 10:59 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire on the roof in the 4900 block of S. Beech St. in Jefferson County. Jeffcom 911 advised that solar panels on the roof were on fire and visible flames from the garage from the 911 caller and the home was evacuated. Engine 11 on scene to a small two-story single-family residents with nothing showing and started the investigation. Crews found a melted solar panels on the roof with no extension into the main structure and disconnected the panels and covered with tarps to stop storage of power, as to avoid further issues. The rest of the response was cancelled as the incident was put under control quickly. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
