Mesa County Potholes Recovery

On June 24th, 2009 the Glade Park Volunteer Fire Department and Mesa County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a reported drowning at the Potholes, a popular recreation area on Bureau of Land Management property west of Grand Junction. First responders arrived on scene and confirmed that a man drowned in a fast-moving section of the Little Delores River surrounded by tall cliffs. Mesa County Search and Rescue was called to assist with the recovery.
