Poudre Structure Fire
At 20:21 on December 29th, 2012 Poudre Fire Authority was alerted to a structure fire at 8304 Mummy Range Dr. in the Mountain Range Shadows with auto-aid from Loveland Fire Rescue Authority & Windsor Severance Fire Rescue. Windsor Engine 4203 was the first due apparatus to arrive on scene and reported fire showing on the exterior delta side. After attacking the fire from the exterior they found minor extension inside the structure and also reported the structure was all clear of any residents. Loveland Engine 6 and Truck 6 were the 2nd due apparatus and assigned to establish the water supply, and Loveland Engine 6 laid 400′ of 5 inch line to Engine 4203, while Loveland Truck 6 checked roof conditions. Poudre Ladder 5 and Engine 14 quickly moved in to assist with interior and exterior overhaul of the fire while Poudre Battalion 2 assigned as the support officer for Loveland Battalion 1 as part of the command structure. The fire crews aggressively extinguished the fire and prevented any further fire extension. Extensive overhaul of the fire area was conducted. The fire origin was around the fire place and extensive fire damage occurred to the floor under the fire place as well as the wall behind the fire place. Poudre Fire’s Customer Assistance Response Team responded along with their on-call investigator. The single resident was displaced from the home, but he made arrangements to stay with family. A restoration company was called in to winterize the home due to the damage. 22 personnel, 3 engines, 2 trucks, 3 command staff and one support apparatus responded to the fire.
