Om April 23rd, 2012 Thornton Police Department and Thornton Fire Department were alerted to a suspicious device at the Bank of the West building on W. 120th Ave. and Washington St. Employees of the bank and other businesses in the building reported seeing a silver bottle on the north end of the building. Police and Fire crews arrived and secured the area setting up a perimeter around the blast zone. Adams County Sheriff bomb technicians responded to help deal with the suspicious item. The Item was destroyed on site without incident.
