Windsor House Fire

Just before 05:00 on November 12th, 2012 Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire north of Windsor Lake. Upon arrival crews found flames coming from the roof at 33840 Hwy. 257 (Weld County Rd, 17). Both residents and their two dogs were out of the house. The fire was contained to the attic and was quickly extinguished. There is extensive damage to the attic and roof of the 572 square foot house, which as built in 1923. According to Fire Marshal Sandra Friedrichsen the cause of the fire was electrical in the attic. A total of 17 firefighters in three engines, an aerial, a water tender, an ambulance, two police officers as well as two fire command units responded. There were no injuries.
