Chief Mark Bodane and the members of Brighton Fire Rescue District opened all of their doors to the community on October 18th, 2013 by holding open houses at all five stations in their district. Stations 53, 54 and 55 greeted early risers with a pancake breakfast. Stations 51 and 52 hosted chili lunches later in the afternoon. All of the stations offered tours of the apparatus, safety information and a free copy of their cookbook, “Firehouse Favorites – Recipes from the Brighton Fire Family”. Throughout the month, Brighton firefighters are wearing pink t-shirts to help raise awareness for breast cancer. October is also Fire Prevention Month and 2013 marks the department’s 125th anniversary.
