Edgewater Duplex Fire

At 09:17 on February 16th, 2013 Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire at 2045 Eaton St. in Edgewater with auto-aid from Fairmount Fire Protection District. Engine 71 arrived to a multi-family duplex with light smoke showing from the Alpha side of the structure, and Battalion 71 arrived and took command. Engine 71 advanced a 1 3/4 line in for fire attack to the Charlie side due to the Alpha side entry was blocked. Engine 73 laid in from W. 22nd Ave. & Eaton St. and then assigned as RIT.  Tower 72 split crews into primary search and vertical ventilation. Crews found the fire but difficult to reach due to hoarder conditions, however crews were still able to extinguish the fire. The fire cause is under investigation and no reported injuries.
