Loveland I-25 Extrication

At 11:36 on February 4th, 2013 Loveland Fire Rescue Authority was dispatched to a multi-car MVA with extrication on I-25 in Loveland. Colorado State Patrol advised three vehicles with at least two parties trapped, and one vehicle on its top. Engine 6 arrived and confirmed three vehicles with heavy damage. Five patients, four trauma yellow and one trauma green. Truck 6 and Engine 1 began extrication on the victims still in the vehicles. The door was popped open with the holmatro on the white Toyota Prius, and a full extrication was needed on the Pontiac Grand Am.  All parties in the white jeep were able to exit the rolled vehicle on their own. Crews made short work of extricating the driver of the Pontiac and all parties were transported to nearby hospitals. I-25 was closed for approximately 75 minutes while the investigation was conducted. Additional information was provided by Loveland Fire Rescue Authority
