Commercial Structure Fire

At 15:27 on January 19th, 2013 Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District was alerted to a confirmed commercial fire at 6975 W. 38th Ave. with auto-aid from Fairmount Fire Fire Protection District. Engine 71 arrived and reported a two-story taxpayer structure with nothing showing. Battalion 71 arrived and assumed command, assigned Engine 71 as fire attack and Engine 73 as RIT. Engine 71 found light laminar smoke inside the apartment complex, and Engine 73 arrived and pulled a water supply from the plug at 38th Ave. & Reed. St. Tower 72 set up roof ops, with ladders on the Alpha & Charlie corner of the structure, and checked for any fire, which provided clear. Engine 33 arrived and provided fire attack with Engine 71. The fire was placed under control at 15:50 with a cause of plastic found in a dryer. There were no reported injuries and the fire is under investigation.
