Adams County Vegetation Fire

On August 30th. 2014 Adams County Fire Rescue was alerted to a structure fire in the 8700 block of Devonshire Court in Welby. Responding units reported smoke in the air. Crews arrived to find a multi-family structure with fresh charring, after a quick investigation units reported a unit effect by fire in need of over haul with no active fire, just hot spots. Firefighters cooled the building and checked for extension in the attic they were able to save personal property inside the effected unit. Most units were able to pick up within 10 minutes. Its believed the fire started in some bushes and climbed the outside wall of the structure, and with the quick acting neighbors helping to knock a lot of the fire before fire arrived on scene. No injuries were reported.

Thornton Fire Department: Battalion 71, Engine 71 & Medic 71
