Denver Fire Department took advantage of the warm weather on August 13th, 2014 to tear apart a few unclaimed cars left at the Denver Sheriff’s impound lot. The crews of Engine 9, Tower 9 and Hamer 1 assembled at Crusher Auto and Truck Salvage on Brighton Blvd. to practice removing windshields, prying open doors, cutting back a roof and removing parts of a dashboard. The training offered hand-ons experience in a controlled environment to work with various extrication tools and prepare for real life scenarios.
