Denver Fire Department firefighters engaged in live fire training exercises at the Rocky Mountain Fire Academy on May 15th, 2014. Chief 5, Engine 9, Engine 14, Engine 29 and Truck 2 were dispatched to make shift structure fires at the training facility to practice fire suppression, ladder operations and ventilation. The exercise gave crews the opportunity to work together and hone their skills in a controlled, structured environment. The drill ground contains equipment and structures designed to provide safe, controlled, and realistic training situations for new recruits, seasoned veterans, and specialized outside organizations.
