Northglenn Attic Fire

Around 13:00 on January 6th, 2014 North Metro Fire Rescue District responded to a smoke investigation with a possible fire inside a home in the 1300 block of Lucille Court in Northglenn. A 911 caller reporting smoke inside the home possibly coming from the ceilings. Engine 63 arrived to find a small wood framed ranch style residence with nothing showing, and crews entered the residence and made contact with homeowners. Crews found light smoke inside possibly from the attic area. The homeowners were evacuated outside the home while crews helped removed a car from the garage to gain access to the attic to investigate. Battalion 61 arrived on scene and conducted a 360 of structure and sized up a possible fire in the attic. Crews found a portion of the attic which had been affected by fire and was smoldering upon investigation, which was quickly extinguished with a water can.
