On June 14th, 2014 at 16:23 Thornton Fire Department responded to a MVA at E. 112th Ave. & Colorado Blvd. Crews arrived to accident involving two vehicles and one trauma core patient trapped, and the call was upgraded to a trapped extrication response with additional medic. One patient was transported to a local hospital. Investigators released that a pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed, and was caught of guard by a truck exiting the 7-11 parking lot, and struck the truck and then swerved into on coming traffic, and then struck a vehicle head-on, killing that driver. The driver of the pickup was arrested for investigation of reckless driving. The accident is under investigation and no other information is available at this time.
