Commerce City Commercial Fire

At 11:47 on July 4th, 2015 South Adams County Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 550 Vasquez Blvd. at E. 56th Ave. Multiple 911 calls reporting a large plume of black smoke, which was seen from all over the metro area. Firefighters arrived to heavy smoke and fire from the roof, and quickly started fire attacked. Several master streams were used to fight the fire from above. The fire was put under control at 12:30, the building was a complete loss. Crews were on scene for several hours with overhaul and hot spots. Denver Fire Department assisted with mutual-aid response. One patent was transported with unknown injuries to a local hospital. The cause of the fire may have been from a sealant from a recent roof repair that may have started the fire.
