Green Mountain House Fire
West Metro Defensive Fire
At 13:31 on September 24th, 2015 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential structure fire in the 1800 block of S. Zinnia Ct. in Green Mountain, with dispatch advising that possible parties trapped. District 2 advised that smoke showing from C-470 & Morrison Rd. Lakewood Police officers on scene advised that all parties were out. Engine 4 arrived to a working fire in a attached garage, and went into fast attack with their own water supply. Flames quickly spread through the home, and self vented through the roof. District 2 arrived ans assumed command in the Alpha-Delta corner with a defensive strategy. Engine 10 pulled a 1 3/4 line from Engine 4, and SAM 1 preformed a 360 with multiple vehicles and propane tanks on the Charlie side. Crews changed to an offensive strategy at 13:50, and started interior attack. Medic 12 assigned utilities, Engine 9 pulled a 2 1/2 to the Charlie side and then to the Alpha side with Tower 10 & Medic 8. Tower 14 arrived and assigned as RIT. The fire was put under control at 14:02 with crews starting an extended overhaul. The American Red Cross was requested to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
