North Metro Fire Rescue District along with Broomfield Police Department hosted their 11th annual flag retirement ceremony and open house on June 13th, 2015 at Station 61 in Broomfield. Firefighters, police officers, veterans with the memorial museum, local Boy Scouts from DEN 606 as well as other members of the community gathered to respectfully dispose of their old or damaged flags in ceremony. The Ceremony included the presentation of the colors, words spoken about the flag and its importance to the past and future of our country, separating the stars from the stripes, burning of the flag and an open house with lunch after the ceremonies.
