Wheat Ridge Head-On MVA

Just before 08:00 on August 2nd, 2015 Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District responded to a head-on MVA involving a Wheat Ridge Police Department patrol unit at W. 38th Ave. & Kipling St. Tower 72 arrived to a two-vehicle head-on accident with a party trapped, and started extrication. Battalion 71 arrived and requested a 2nd ambulance to the scene. Engine 71 arrived and set-up as traffic safety. Two police officers were transported with minor injuries, and three from the other vehicle with minor injuries, and one with serious injuries. Southbound Kipling St. was closed for several hours for the investigation, and investigators say alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
