Fairmount House Fire

At 12:55 on January 27th, 2016 Fairmount Fire Protection District with auto-aid from Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire in the 5300 block of Arbutus St. in Arvada. Engine 33 arrived and found a small single-story residential structure with smoke showing from the eves and pulled a 1 3/4 line in for fire attack. Engine 32 arrived and crews found fire on the first level that burned through the floor. Tower 72 was assigned as RIT and Battalion 30 as safety. Crews got the fire out quickly with a lot of smoke damage. Crews rescued a cat from the structure, crews attempted to resuscitation, but unfortunately unsuccessful. The cause is under investigation.
