At 12:59 On May 13th, 2017 Falcon Fire Protection District was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 5000 block of E. Blaney Rd. Automatic-aid from Ellicott Volunteer Fire Department and Peyton Fire Protection District was dispatched. First arriving company reported smoke and flames showing from a single-story structure. Because the structure was well involved with fire, a defensive fire attack was initiated. At the time of the fire, there was no one inside the building, which was a modular home, being used as a business office on the property. The fire was contained to the modular structure and firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby buildings. A special call went out for Colorado Springs Fire Department Air Truck and the Fire Rehab Unit. Water supply used to fight the blaze was brought to the scene by multiple water tenders. A portion of the roof eventually collapsed due to the heavy fire involvement. The fire was declared under control around 15:00, and firefighters continued working to extinguish hot spots. Fire investigators were on scene working to determine a cause. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported. The structure and contents suffered significant damage.
