Wheat Ridge Outbuilding Fire

At 04:45 on February 21st, 2017 West Metro Fire Rescue were dispatched to an outbuilding on fire at 33rd and Holland St in Wheat Ridge, with a 911 caller reporting flames showing in the back of the house. Engine 17 reported two outbuildings involved with wind driven fire spreading to the back of 3285 Garland St. Engine 17 established a water supply and advanced a 1 ¾” line for fire attack. Engine 16 arrived on the Garland St. side of the fire and advanced a backup 1 ¾” attack line on the Bravo side. District Chief 1 assumed command and Engine 2 pulled a 3rd line in for exposure protection. Crews got a quick knock on the fire, no injuries were reported and the incident is under investigation.
