A single 911 caller reported visible flames near the hogback. Crews initially checked the highway from Kipling to Bowles with nothing found, then identified a glow coming from the west side of the hogback. District Chief 3 arrived and assumed command, assigned SAM1 as Lookout and broke the incident into Alpha and Zulu Divisions.
