Arvada Kitchen Fire

At 01:57 on December 29th, 2018 JeffCom dispatched Arvada Fire Protection District to a possible structure fire in the 6100 block of Eaton St. in Lamar Heights. Medic 51 arrived on scene to a medium size one-story structure, Truck 54 arrived to smoke showing in the offensive strategy and secured their own water supply. Engine 51 pulled a 1 3/4 attack line for fire control and search & rescue. Crews found a small fire in the kitchen area that was quickly extinguished, and crews started an extended salvage and overhaul with Engine 55. Smoke alarms alerted the family and gave them enough time to evacuate safely. The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the displaced residents.
