Aurora Brush Fire

Around 15:30 on July 4th, 2018 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a brush fire near East Orchard Road and south Powhaton Road in Southlands. Upon arrival crews found several acres burning and requested additional units, including mutual aid from Sable Altura Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue. Although homes were nearby, no structures were ever threatened. Battalion Chief 3 assumed command and assigned Alpha Division to Battalion Chief 32 and Zulu Division to Safety 35. Direct attack was used to anchor, flank the pinch the fire that was contained at approximately 9 acres.
