At 06:17 on June 7th, 2018 Littleton Fire Rescue Dive Team responded to the north boat ramp at Chatfield State Park for a submerged vehicle recovery. The driver of the SUV backed his boat trailer into the water and when he got out to untether the boat, the vehicle and trailer began rolling backwards. Realizing the parking break wasn’t on, he tried to stop it but it was too late. Thankfully he wasn’t injured during the incident but his vehicle became completely submerged. Two Firefighters donned dry suits and SCUBA equipment then dove under water to attach a tow strap and cable. The vehicle and trailer were safely removed from the water without incident.
