Around 15:00 on September 29, 2018 Littleton Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a small vegetation fire at Cheese Ranch Park in Highlands Ranch.  First arriving Engine 17 found a creeping fire in the grass, brush and trees with structures threatened.  Engine 17 began fire attack with hand tools while Brush 18 accessed the trail system.  Due to the access problems and gusty winds a second Brush Truck was requested and Brush 42 responded.  Battalion Chief 1 assumed command and Safety 32 was assigned as incident safety officer. The half-acre fire was quickly extinguished and was likely caused by an unattended campfire in the creek bed.

Units On Scene: Battalion Chief 1, Safety 32, SAM 10, Engine 17, Brush 17 & Brush 42
