Denver 2nd Alarm Scrap Yard Fire

At 16:15 on January 9th, 2018 Denver Fire Department was alerted to a scrap yard fire at 46th Ave and Ivy Street with multiple 911 calls. Engine 9 arrived on scene with a large metal fire at 4661 Ivy and laid in, and started deck gun ops on the fire. Engine 19 arrived and established a water supply at 47th Ave. and Ivy to Engine 9. Engine 10 pulled the blitzfire on the Delta side. Engine 15 secured a water supply to Tower 27 and setup master stream on the Bravo-Charlie corner, and Engine 15 set-up deck gun ops on the Charlie-Delta corner. A second alarm was called with multiple master steams and hand monitors used on the fire. The fire was put under control at 18:00 with an extended overhaul and hot spots, the fire was out at 20:01. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
