Denver West Restaurant Fire

At 15:09 on June 6th, 2018 West Metro Fire Rescue & Pleasant View Fire Department responded with dual response to a commercial fire alarm at 14265 W. Colfax Ave. at the Mimi’s Cafe in the Denver West Retail. Engine 41 arrived to a single-story restaurant with horns and strobes, and set-up on the Alpha side. Engine 5 arrived and layed in a dry line to Engine 41. Crews inside reported an electrical fire with sprinkler activation and requested an upgrade on the fire to a full alarm. District 1 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy with crews checking for extension. Engine 2 arrived and assigned utilities, Tower 2 arrived and started roof ops on the Charlie side. Crews found a fire in the electrical box with no extension; Command put the fire under control at 15:30. No injuries were reported and the restaurant was closed for investigation.
