At 01:07 on December 9th, 2018 JeffCom dispatched out West Metro Fire Rescue to a car into a house at W. 26th Ave. & Newland St. in Edgewater. Engine 1 arrived to a vehicle sideways and all the way into the house. District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side, Medic 11 assisted with a patient from the home. Crews got the driver out and turned over to Edgewater Police Department. Command requested the building department and Connolly’s Towing arrived to remove the vehicle. The homeowner was sleeping when the car came through the wall and into the bedroom next to the bed, the homeowner was able to crawled out the window, and was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The accident is under investigation, Wheat Ridge Police Department and Lakeside Police Department assisted.
