Evans Ranch Fire

On August 17th, 2018 Clear Creek Fire Authority with Evergreen Fire Protection District and the U.S. Forest Service responded to a reported wildfire near Evans Ranch in the Mount Evans area. Firefighters hiked in 1/2 mile with water packs, chain saws and tools and found a 20′ x 20′ fire. Crews were able to contained the fire with minimal spread and started mop-up on hot spots. The fire was caused by a lightning strike. Additional information provided by Evergreen Fire Protection District
