Grand Junction MVA

At Approximately 17:16 on August 2nd, 2018 Grand Junction Fire Department was dispatched to a 3 vehicle MVA at 26 Rd. and I-70, on the overpass. The Grand Junction Police Department and Mesa County Sheriff were attempting to locate a stolen vehicle in the area. The victim of the theft followed the vehicle until law enforcement could locate. While tailing the suspect, the vehicle attempted to the split the difference between the truck in front and an oncoming vehicle. The stolen car clipped the back end of a Ford F-250 in front and hit the opposing vehicle head on. The suspect fled and was caught a short time later. There were no injuries reported and the suspect was medically cleared by EMS for transport to the jail. The crash is under investigation along with the theft.
