Grand Junction Riverside Parkway Fire
Grand Junction Commercial Fire
At 12:31 on January 26th, 2018 Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a commercial structure fire at CoorsTek 2451 Riverside Parkway. 911 caller reporting that the fire is in the kiln stack with heavy black smoke. Training 1 arrived to a medium to large building with smoke showing from one of the stacks. Engine 3 arrived for fire attack, Battalion 1 arrived and took command, Engine 4 assigned to the Charlie side, Engine 5 pulled a hand line from Engine 3 to the front door. Engine 1 established a water supply, and building maintenance reports that no water can be used on the fire. Engine 7 was assigned to roof ops, and checked for extension, Command called the fire knocked at 12:58 and crews worked hot spots on the roof and overhaul for an extended time. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation
