Greeley Roof Rescue

At on September 10th, 2018 Greeley Fire Department and Banner Paramedic Services responded to the 300 block of 43rd Ave. for a person having a medical emergency on a roof of a house. Engine 3 arrived and determined additional resources would be needed to safely remove the patient from the roof.  Engine 3 and Banner Paramedics provided patient care to the patient while awaiting the additional resources. Upon arrival of the additional resources the patient was safely removed using a technique called a “Ladder Pivot.”  This technique utilizes rescue ropes, a ground ladder, and a special patient harness that are all carried on Greeley Fire units. The patient was transported to a local hospital by Banner Paramedic Services. Additional info provided by Greeley Fire Department.
