Highlands Ranch Brush Fire

At 18:45 on July 1st, 2018 Littleton Fire Rescue responded to a brush fire along the Highline Canal Trail between Lucent Blvd. and Primo Rd. in Highlands Ranch. Initially heavy smoke was visible in the area and Battalion 10 requested an additional Engine and Brush.  The small fire was slowly spreading between the path and the canal in grass and tree stumps when Battalion 10 arrived and assumed command.  Brush 18 pulled their booster line and conducted a direct attack, assisted by Brush 17.  The fire was quickly extinguished and the Type 1 Engines were released.  Neighbors report fireworks in the area just before smoke and flames were visible. South Metro Fire Rescue also responded with support.
