At 21:34 on September 1st, 2018 Littleton Fire Rescue and South Metro Fire Rescue responded to a reported house fire in the 10200 block of Knoll Ct. in Highlands Ranch.  A neighbor heard electrical popping sounds and saw flames coming from the side of the house.  First arriving Engine and Medic 17 used a dry chemical fire extinguisher to extinguish the flames and cooled the siding using water from a hose line. District Chief 3 assumed command and assigned Safety 32 as the Incident Safety Officer.  Additional Firefighters conducted a thorough search of the home’s interior and attic space to confirm that no fire extended inside.  Crews waited on scene for Xcel Energy; their personnel shut off the electricity and began working on the needed repairs. Once the power was shut off, the structure was checked a second time for signs of smoke or heat and no problems were found.
